At Primitive, our sense of fashion has organically generated from our international travels and what one discovers (or needs) while “on the road.” Of course our buyers discover fantastic contemporary textile creations such as our Thai and Laotian silk scarves, which are woven with a monochromatic shadow effect showing the character for Longevity. We have a collection of Nepalese sherpa hats in a range of colors and our own Obi Clutch, which we custom craft from vintage Japanese kimonos or obis and backed with Chinese Guangzhou silk. Each is unique. Our own design staff offers lines of Swarovski Crystal-studded clutches and evening bags and also “urban chic” bags and totes for shopping or trekking. In addition to glamorous shirts and tops by celebrated Indian designer Tarun Tahiliani, our house designers offer lines of colorful tops, coats and jackets using the finest Asian silks and brocades.
