This globe is a fine example of superb craftsmanship. Attention to detail is evident throughout the mounting. Note the glass ball footing encased by eagle claws and the Art Nouveau lines with a copper finish. The aged patina of the map provides a warm glow to the orb. The map itself highlights the fine globe making skills of the past; the legend documents empires one can only read of in history books. A twin of this model can be found in the Globe Museum of the National Library of Austria.
