Giant Scorpion

   Giant Scorpion
  Heterometrus Spinifer, or Giant Scorpion

Imagine a giant centipede crawling across your bed and slowly moving toward your head; or how about a big purple hairy tarantula lounging in the sun on your hammock; or a scorpion making its way inside your boot before you get dressed! These situations cannot be called attractive – unless, of course, the creatures themselves are being described. In nature, what is deadly can also be beautiful.

Heterometrus Spinifer, or Giant Scorpion
Poised to strike, this Giant Scorpion comes from Malaysia

This week’s New Arrival provides a sneak peek into our upcoming Bug Sale. Look closely at this giant Scorpion. It cannot prey on anything because it has been perfectly preserved and framed behind glass. There is no need to fear its raised stinger or lobster like claws. All that’s left is to admire nature’s handiwork; and if this specimen appears too creepy, then click here to see why other bugs can only be described as beautiful!
