Have you ever heard the expression, “Love can move a mountain?” If so, it’s a direct reference to a story involving the Hindu god of love, Krishna, who held a mountain aloft with a single finger to protect a group of villagers. He did this to illustrate worship or devotion should be performed out of love, not fear. He proved, in the world of mythology love conquers all!

This week’s New Arrival features a monumental pichvai, or devotional painting from India. Upon examination you will find Krishna standing in the center on a lotus blossom with one arm raised. He’s holding up the mountain to keep all the inhabitants of the village safe. Look further and you might see him proving a different point – love can conquer all in the physical world too!
