The wood of the tree known as Saman Samanea is hard with a dreamy, swirling grain, its color ranging from honey to light tan to deep red, almost black. Saman Samanea. It sounds like the name of a movie star. Her canopy is large, umbrella shaped, and extremely wide. Her trunk is impressive too. As she ages, it can reach a diameter in excess of eight feet. She is a big tree, one to be appreciated for her grandeur and beauty. She is the siren of the forest.
