Faline Library Table by Oly |
The Story Continues...
Do you know the character named Faline? In Felix Stalten’s 1923 novel Bambi, she is a giggly, young, playful character who wins Bambi’s heart because of her energetic, positive nature. In turn, Bambi wins Faline’s heart when he protects her from a belligerent stag. Disney turned the romance into an animated film and it instantly became a classic. Yet, the story didn’t end there. In Bambi II, a porcupine pushes Faline into Bambi resulting in a kiss that seals their love forever; but the story didn’t end there either. It inspired a unique piece of furniture.
The Faline Table was inspired by a famous character |
This week’s New Arrival features a library table designed by Oly Studio. It doesn’t take long to figure out why it’s named Faline. Look at its legs. Cast in hard resin, the table is remarkably stable and durable; yet it is more than a substantial piece of furniture. Place it in a library piled with books; set it with a table lamp and a collection of precious objects; or use it as a desk – a place to contemplate life, love, and literature. Wherever it’s placed, however it’s used, it too will tell an enduring story that can instantly be recognized as classic.
