  • Scroll with calligraphy character ''willow.'' In both Chinese and Japanese cultures, the willow was associated with dispelling demons and ghosts. Quan Yin, the Chinese depiction of the bodhisattva of compassion Avalokiteshvara, it often shown with a willow branch to ward off evil. The willow is also seen as a symbol of resilience, reflecting the enduring nature of the tree.
